#RoadToRPH: The Process (no. 3)

It's hard to dive in to something when you don't know how to begin so I'm here to help you prepare early for that. I'm going to list some of the requirements I remember preparing and talk you through the process of the application in this video (link). Try to read this and watch the video if you can to have the whole package of the process clear to you. Para less hassle pag ikaw na mag apply :)

Here we go.

This is the PRC application site: http://online1.prc.gov.ph

EXAMINATION APPLICATION

*NOTE*
  • Make sure the spelling of your name is correct and all other information on all your documents especially your birth certificate & transcript of records
  • Request for your birth certificate early it may take awhile esp. IF with discrepancies
  • There are multiple copies of your transcript, make sure to photocopy the one with the note "for board exam purposes"
  • You can get a Good Moral Cert from your school, church, barangay. Submit the original copy
  • Make sure your NUMBER OF HOURS are complete and that all information is correct on your DTRs. Ensure the signatures too.
  • Apply for your NBI clearance early as well.
  • Stamps and Mailing envelopes can be bought at PRC Morayta however I think other branches cater them too. Do not be hesitant to call the branch you are scheduled at and ask. KEEP THE MAILING ENVELOPE FOR IT WILL BE PASSED ON THE BOARD EXAM DAY.
  • Picture labs usually know the requirements when you say it's for PRC. (I had mine done at TRONIX so that I get a soft copy for the online registration)
  • PRINT THE APPLICATION FORM IN A LONG BOND PAPER (I printed mine colored)
  • You need the Cedula during the reservation process. It's easy to get at the city hall near you (make sure it has a thumb mark)
  • Bring a black pen during application (something that won't smudge)
  • Envelopes are not required, it just keeps your documents safe and in one place.

BOARD EXAM DAY

*NOTE*
  • CHECK YOUR PLACE OF EXAMINATION (NAME OF BUILDING & ADDRESS) before the board exam day. if you can visit the place and check the area to familiarize yourself please do so.
  • DO NOT FORGET YOUR NOTICE OF ADMISSION SLIP. This is given to you after you have successfully submitted your requirements to the PRC.
  • Make sure your plastic envelope is long and clear (uncolored). The one I bought has a handle so I could carry it easily but, the regular ones work just as fine.
  • Make sure your pencils are no.2. Prepare an eraser and sharpener too. I prefer the Mongol brand for all three. (not sponsored tho haha)
  • Make sure your black pen does not smudge. I brought my black Titus pen and it worked fine.
  • Bring a black marker which will be used to write details on your brown envelope. Some vendors wait around the entrances to sell markers.
  • BRING YOUR MAILING ENVELOPE or buy another one if you lost yours. Vendors on the day sell it too, but according to our proctors they say it's "fake". So make sure to check just in case.
  • DO NOT BE ASHAMED to bring your own food. you need to relax, and FOOD IS LIFE! haha
  • BRING medication you need (paracetamol, antacids, antimotility meds etc. )
  • You can bring reviewers but I suggest only small index cards to just refresh yourself.
  • BRING YOUR PRAYERS & ROSARY to keep you at ease. here are some prayers I had with me (read blog post here

INITIAL REGISTRATION

*NOTE*
  • Same process as before, payment first then you will be able to print the oath form.
  • you can use SAME or DIFFERENT passport sized picture. I used a different one because THIS will be used on your COR & ID.
  • MAKE SURE to bring a shot brown envelope so you won't have to buy there.
  • BRING ENOUGH CASH!! during the registration online you will see how much the fee is then bring extra loose change for printing, stamps etc. just in case.
  • The cedula can be what you used before.

I think that is everything. I will be adding from time to time in case I see something missing. For questions you can comment down below or reach me through my socials!

Here is the video of the process. Watch here! & subscribe!!
