DAVAO '17
Whenever we Filipinos plan on going out,
there would always be that "wag kayo mag plano, baka di matuloy". I
have no clue where this originated, but based on experience it is the unplanned
trips that push through. Take this Davao trip for example, we had no plans last
Holy Week, but then I received a call from my dad Tuesday (4-11-17) afternoon
saying "pack-up we're leaving for Davao tom morning" (non-verbatim)
and just like that, we did.
The last time we were in Davao, was a long
time ago (haha) that I practically don't remember it. We stayed there for 4
days and 3 nights. We drove around some places and ate a lot, that's for sure.
Here I compiled some pictures of our trip, which ended up more of a photo diary
than an in-depth travel diary. So continue on reading and see Davao's beauty.
- DAY 1 -
My dad had official business on the first
day so we did not go around much. We had a very satisfying lunch ay Yellow Fin
then settled in at the hotel (The Royal Mandaya) and dinner at Mesa in SM
Lanang. We finished the day with eating Durian along Magsaysay road.
- DAY 2 -
Beach day it is! Got up early to catch a
pump boat that'll take us to Paradise Island Resort. Spent half the day there
swimming and eating and just having a good time. Then we did "Bisita
Iglesia" since it was Holy Week. Almost all places were closed, but
luckily Harana was open and so we had dinner there. A night tour of downtown
ended our day before heading back to the hotel.
- DAY 3 -
Chill start to a day with breakfast at the
hotel then went for a walk. Aldevinco (a place with shops sells pearls and
other native stuff) was slightly open so we decided to go and buy some
pasalubong. Afterwards, went back to the hotel to freshen up and have lunch out
at Time's Beach. We got the chance to visit the house of President DU30 and the
Ampatuan houses as well. The Crocodile park was next on our list to watch the
shows then have dinner afterwards. We even tried Crocodile Ice cream !! Yum
yum!! After dinner we continued our chika session over cakes & coffee at the
Green Coffee shop (which we're guessing might be organic or something). This
was by far the most packed and tiring day, but the most enjoyable one too.
- DAY 4 -
It's pack up day but our flight wasn't till
7:40pm so we had time to kill. We checked out around 12 then had lunch at
Jack's Ridge and dessert at Karlo's (in the same compound). We then drove
around some scenic places like the statue of David and sculptures made by
Kublai at Ponce suites, we even got to walk through the Japanese Tunnel. Bought
some pasalubong at Lola Abon's and decided to go to SM Lanang for some
Halo-Halo ni Aling Foping's which was delicious BTW. Then off to the airport we go...
So that was our Davao Trip! Maybe you're
edging towards to flying out to Davao now, right? What's the 1st thing you
would when you get there? Comment down!
